TB Joshua: The Global Televangelist Star Nigeria’s outsider

NewsReport June 8, 2021

Nigeria’s prominent pastor TB Joshua, who died at 57, was seen amongst the mega-televangelists and fought to be accepted into their circles till his death, despite the accumulation of millions of followers throughout Africa.

An “impostor” who belonged to an “occultic” body that had infiltrated Christianity was mentioned in Ostracis by both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Society of Nigeria (PFN).

But Mr. Joshua had nothing to do with the other Televangelists, whose “prosperity promises” had kept many Nigerians holding them since the early nineties.

Most of them are dramatic and do the same ” miracles,” but the clique was not part of Mr. Joshua – who headed the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

“He’s been honest. He was crude. He was simplistic. He was unorthodox in his methodology, “Abimbola Adelakun, African Department Assistant Professor at the University of Texas states.
