NewsReport that men, women, and children from all around the state had gathered in Michael Okpara Square, from where they marched through the state’s capital while dancing and singing songs of support for Obi.

Sunday PUNCH observed that members and supporters of political parties other than Obi’s Labour Party participated in the rally.

Some residents, who were not part of the crowd at the inception, abandoned their activities to join the Obi’s supporters who were chanting “Obi is our next president”.

One of the supporters, Chukwuemeka Okereke, who spoke to our correspondent, said the rally was just to arouse the consciousness of the people about the LP presidential candidate.

“I joined the rally because I believe that with Peter Obi as president of the country, things can still turn around in Nigeria for better.

“If not, no amount of money can anybody pay me to come out to march under the rain. You can see these people here are hungry for a true change in Nigeria, not the type of change we were promised in 2015.”
