NewsReport gathered that Blessing Omoru, who lives in Agric Settlement, Esa-Oke, Osun State, and was kidnapped along with her husband, London, has been released.
On Wednesday, the couple was kidnapped from their home in the Agric Settlement and whisked away into the bush by suspected Fulani herdsmen who had reportedly entered the settlement with some cattle.
It was learned that Blessing escaped from their kidnappers in the early hours of Friday and was spotted in Ijebu Jesa after a search party combing the bushes gave the perpetrators a hot chase.
The Director-General, Kiriji Heritage Defenders, Dr. Ademola Ekundayo, said Blessing was found after an all-night search by a team comprising hunters, men of Kiriji Heritage Defenders, and Oodua Peoples’ Congress.
He said, “The woman escaped and was this morning rescued in Ijebu Jesa. The husband is still with the kidnappers, but the search for the husband is still on.”
Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for Osun Police Command, could not be reached for comment, as calls to her line did not go through.
