President Muhammadu Buhari Arrives in Ghana for the ECOWAS Summit.

President Muhammadu Buhari is presently in Accra, Ghana, attending the 59th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government NewsReport gathered.

 

Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo will preside over the Summit.

 

Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), is also present at the Summit.

 

It was also learned that the Presidency previously stated in a statement on Friday that President Buhari will join other ECOWAS Heads of State and Government for the regional bloc’s mid-year statutory meeting, with the exception of Mali, which was recently suspended from the group.

 

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, ECOWAS Special Envoy, and Mediator to Mali is also attending the event and is scheduled to give a report to the summit of the Heads of State on his most recent working visit to the West African country.
