I will Never Restructure Nigeria; You are Naive and Uninformed about War- Buhari

Buhari tells agitators, “I will never restructure Nigeria; you are foolish and ignorant of war.”
NewsReport gathered that President Muhammadu Buhari has said unequivocally that his government would not reorganize the country.
It was learned that Buhari cautioned that people advocating secession and restructuring are foolish and uninformed about war.
The President stated this on Saturday while speaking as a Special Guest of Honour at the launch of the Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari, Zaria Peace Foundation at Ahmadu Bello University Hotels in Zaria, Kaduna state.
Buhari stated that the country is not restructuring and that most individuals who bring up the issue do not even know what they are talking about.
Alhaji Mohammed Bello Shehu, Executive Secretary, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission, represented the President at the occasion.
“And, once again, for those who are talking about restructuring, my question is, what are you going to restructure?” Buhari inquired.
“If you ask many Nigerians what they intend to reorganize, you will discover that they have nothing to say. Some of them haven’t even read the Constitution of 1999. The 1999 constitution is around 70 to 80 percent the same as the 1979 constitution.
“The other difficulty is that people who are clamoring for restructuring and consensus on what they term ethnic nationality, who is to represent them if you go to Southern Kaduna, Taraba? In many states, we have a diverse mix of ethnicities. Kano and Kaduna Igbo have properties as well. The same is true for Yorubas.
“In Port Harcourt, there are Fulani. Those advocating secession or reorganization, I believe, are either ignorant or dangerously misguided. Those who advocate for restructuring are uninformed about war and its repercussions. Because Nigeria is a major player in West Africa.
“There is no government in the world that will relinquish control to unelected citizens.
“You’re telling us to resolve a system and convene an obscure conference to debate how we can move ahead as a nation; it can never be done, and no country will agree to it.
“Those who are doing so should go back and meet with their MPs in the House of Assembly and request whatever constitutional modification they like. The proper procedure must be followed.”
