NewsReport gathered that, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, is happy to announce the appointment of former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, as his High Representative for the Horn of Africa region.
This decision is in line with the African Union’s efforts to foster peace, security, stability, and political discourse throughout the Horn of Africa.
The High Representative will, in particular, step up engagements with all important political actors and stakeholders in the region in order to establish long-term peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
