Mrs. Caroline Anyanwu has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), beginning May 19, 2021.

NewsReport Nigeria reports that Anyanwu has a First-Class degree in Statistics from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria and has spent over four decades working in the disciplines of accounting, taxation, credit risk, and banking. She held the post of Head, Credit Risk Management, at UBA from 1996 to 2006.

Until her retirement in 2019, Anyanwu was also the Deputy Managing Director of Diamond Bank, having supervisory responsibility for risk management.

Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman of the UBA Group, remarked of the new position, “We welcome Caroline back to the UBA Group  after fifteen years.”

She assisted in the developmentnt of our credit and risk management, and her track record gives me no reason to doubt that she will be able to contribute meaningful contributions to UBA’s Group Board of Directors by leveraging her extensive experience across the African continent.

Caroline Anyanwu clearly matches with our philosophy of corporate governance and risk management, which is at the heart of what we do at UBA.”
