The Nigeria Police Force recently took decisive action by dismissing two of its personnel, Inspector Sunday Adetoye and Inspector Ogunleye Stephen, on grounds of alleged corruption and involvement in a robbery. These officers, stationed at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, faced serious accusations, including armed robbery, official corruption, and illegal duty.
Following a thorough Orderly Room trial, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Mohammed Ali, made the decision to dismiss the officers. Their alleged involvement in a raid on a residence in the Obada-Oko community of Ogun State, accompanied by members of the Vigilante Group and a driver, resulted in their dismissal.
During the raid, which took place at approximately 10 p.m. on November 23, 2023, the officers reportedly seized electronic devices like five iPhones, one Samsung smartphone, one Tecno smartphone, and two laptop computers. without a warrant.
Because the police officers at Ifo Division acted quickly and set up a roadblock based on information provided by the affected residents, they were able to make the arrest.
