VON DG Pleads With IPOB over Threat of South East Lockdown In Kanu’s Trial
The Voice of Nigeria’s (VON) Director-General, Osita Okechukwu, has urged the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to refrain from threatening a lockdown in the South-East every Monday News Report gathered.
Remember that IPOB’s Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said in a statement on Friday that the Monday lockdown will be dubbed “Ghost Monday.”
This online information leaned that according to the statement, “Ghost Monday,” which will affect all economic operations, including schools and marketplaces, will take place every Monday until the group’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released.
However, in a statement issued on Sunday in Enugu, Okechukwu asked the group to examine the economic impact of the lockdown on the region’s economy and people.
He advised the audience to think about the massive infrastructure development that the Muhammadu Buhari administration is undertaking in the zone.
“As a result, locking down the South-East and thinking they are tough, strategic, and will achieve any significant outcome will be a huge mistake for IPOB, capital NO.
“Appointments come and go, but infrastructure lasts forever. The usefulness of infrastructure will be demonstrated by the Standard Gauge Railroads, which will shortly cover the whole Southeast. Please, IPOB, hold on.”
He also backed Ohaneze Ndigbo’s position that the rule of law should prevail in Kanu’s prosecution as the leader of the banned IPOB.
