NewsReport Nigeria reports that as a result of the ongoing killings and kidnappings of civilians by alleged bandits across the region, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded. On Thursday, April 29, the APC leader said he was troubled by the terror and brutality being inflicted upon the people, especially in Borno, Yobe, Benue, Niger, and Imo states, in a series of tweets on his Twitter profile, @AsiwajuTinubu.
He clarified that the attacks had forced many people to dismiss the country’s military and security services, who were risking their lives to protect the people.
Apparently dissatisfied with the ongoing loss of life, the former Lagos state governor said that the government would continue to empower security forces to do whatever possible to combat this challenge. Tinubu also urged Nigerians to never succumb to the trap of blaming one another, regardless of location or religion. While acknowledging that everybody must work together to overcome a shared adversary, the former governor stated that discord would only lead to defeat.
Meanwhile, according to this online Report, Tinubu defended President Buhari’s battle against insecurity. According to Tinubu, both nations will experience these ups and downs. The former Lagos state governor revealed this in an interview with State House correspondents shortly after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
He went on to say that no president anywhere in the world would want robbers and criminals to destabilize his government.
