NewsReport Nigeria June 1, 2021

The new incident brought the total number of police stations burned in the state to four in less than a week.

NewsReports Nigeria reports that the attackers tossed flammable substances at the police station, causing it to catch fire.

The development heightened tensions in the state, as residents completely adhered to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB sit-at-home )’s ultimatum issued on Monday.

On Monday, the burning of the police station was the sole violent event in the state.

According to an eyewitness, the terrorists tossed explosives at “Isu Divisional Police Headquarters building, which quickly caught fire.”

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Imo State Police Command, SP. Bala Elkana, stated that the Police building was still intact and that nothing had occurred to it.

He claimed that some hoodlums tried to set fire to the building with gasoline but were thwarted.

According to the PPRO, hoodlums who were a few meters away from the police station threw their fuel container towards the building, but it did not make it to the structure before catching fire.

“The Police building is undamaged and nothing has occurred to it,” he stated. The hoodlums who tried to burn it down were defeated.”
