The NEC has seen more than 15,000 applications registered, 87 finalists rewarded and 24 scholarships awarded since its inception in 2013 in Senegal.

The competition keeps getting better since it started and the foundation is proud to be part of the success stories of African youths through the National Essay Competition’s life changing opportunities.

This, the Managing Director, Tony Odeigah stated at the official ceremony which took place at the bank’s head office in Lagos, reassuring members of the public of the foundation’s commitment to contributing to the enhancement of students’ knowledge while offering them a chance to obtain funding for their higher education.

The topic for this year’s edition is: “In a world devastated by all kinds of crises, sport and culture are the most effective means of soothing hearts and minds. Do you share this point of view?.”

The deadline for submission is 4 March 2023.
