Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Commit Over N100M to Renovate Yaba Psychiatric Hospital Ward

A notable example of corporate social responsibility, Ward MS/F3 at the Yaba Psychiatric Hospital in Lagos is being renovated by Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, a division of Stanbic IBTC Holdings and a top pension fund administrator in Nigeria. This project intends to enhance the living circumstances for patients at this well-known mental health facility and is a component of the company’s corporate social investment (CSI) program.

 

 

The management of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers proudly announced the completion of the project during a hand-over event held in Lagos on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the premises of the Yaba Psychiatric Hospital.

 

 

The comprehensive renovation project, totaling 107,857,474.75 million Naira, included a range of enhancements such as the installation of hospital beds, air conditioners, fans, refurbished kitchens equipped with refrigerators and cooker units, toilet facilities with sinks and soap dispensers, bathroom facilities with showers and water heaters, as well as various other amenities aimed at improving the comfort and well-being of patients. Additionally, the project included the provision and installation of two 40-inch LED LG TVs to entertain patients during their rest periods.

 

 

During the hand-over ceremony, Olumide Oyetan, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, emphasized the company’s dedication to community development and enhancing the lives of others. He highlighted the importance of investing in health, stating, “As an organization committed to the long-term sustainability of Nigerians, we believe that investments in health must be frequent and sustained. Recognizing the challenges faced by individuals dealing with mental health issues in our country, we seized the opportunity to support the hospital management in creating an environment that fosters care and expedites the recovery of patients facing these challenges.”

The hospital staff expressed their excitement about the renovated wards and the potential they hold to positively impact patient care and recovery.
