Shatta Wale, a dancehall musician, received backlash on social media following remarks he made about Sarkodie’s collaboration with Bob Marley and The Wailers.

Shatta concluded his remarks with what many perceived as an attempt to mock the collaboration. He announced, “We have someone who can feature a ghost.”

On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the late Bob Marley’s official Twitter handle announced that a remake of the legendary reggae artist’s song Stir It Up, which features The Wailers, would be released on Friday, January 20, 2023, with Sarkodie as a guest feature.Sarkodie reacted to the announcement, saying:

One of the proudest moments of my career/life… what a blessing to have my vocals right next to the original vocals of the legend.
