Bandits reportedly killed the Emir’s son, Alhaji Bashar Saidu Namaska, on his father’s farm in Kontagora, the seat of the Kontagora Local Government Area in Niger State, yesterday, throwing the old city of Kontagora into chaos.
NewsReport Nigeria reports that when the late Bashar was murdered by bandits outside Kontagora town, he was reportedly visiting his father’s farm in Masuga village.
This on-line information gathered that the deceased, who was the Sardauna of Kontagora, was caring for his father, Sarkin Sudan, Alhaji Saidu Namaska, who had been ill for some time.
Aside from the Emir’s son, the bandits are claimed to have slain some farm workers, as well as stealing an unidentified number of cows.
The bandits were also said to have stopped both commercial and private vehicles on the route and taken their phones, money, and other belongings.
According to an eyewitness, individuals who did not have cash on them were thrashed by the bandits, who also took several others to an unknown location.
“It is true that bandits stormed Kontagora town and shot numerous individuals, including the Emir’s son, Alhaji Bashar,” a reliable source and top government official confirmed the occurrence.
“His death will be reported today (yesterday) and he will be buried right away.
“He was brought to the hospital as soon as he was shot, but he was confirmed dead as soon as he arrived.”
