Reverend Wilson Badejo and Fawehinmi’s Families Receive Condolences from Osinbajo

News report gathered that the VP Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, paid personal visits to the families of late legal icon Chief Gani Fawehinmi, whose son, Mohammed, recently died, and the late Revd. Dr. Wilson Badejo, former General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, delivering condolence messages.

The Vice President described the late Revd. Dr. Badejo, who died recently, as “an exceptional man of God” at the Badejos’ Yaba residence, where he was received by Mrs. Yinka Badejo.

Revd. Badejo, according to Prof. Osinbajo, was a gospel promoter who worked for both physical and spiritual transformation of societies.

“He was clearly a man of integrity, a guy who served God with all his strength, and a man who sincerely loved God and the gospel of Jesus Christ,” the Vice President said.

The late Badejo, according to the VP, “was also someone who felt that the gospel is for social reform, in addition to spiritual transformation.” And he preached the message that the gospel is meant to physically and spiritually transform society and people. He was a one-of-a-kind individual.”

Prof. Osinbajo also left a brief tribute in the residence’s condolence book.

“We praise the Lord for the life and times of one of His generals, Revd. Dr. Wilson Badejo, our father in the Lord. We praise him for his outstanding gospel effort, and we now honor him for such a wonderful life of service. The VP’s message began, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Prof. Osinbajo prayed for God to comfort and strengthen the family, as well as for God to preserve the late man of God’s legacy, stressing that “he has left a magnificent legacy indeed.” We are proud of our wonderful legacy.”

Between 1999 until 2009, the late Badejo served as General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church.

Prof. Osinbajo visited with Mohammed’s mother, Mrs Ganiyat Fawehinmi, at the Fawehinmis’ Ikeja apartment and prayed for God’s consolation for her and her family.

He referred to the late Mohammed Fawehinmi as “one of us,” describing him as a progressive and advocate for the poor and underprivileged.

“The late Mohammed constantly identified himself with the progressives and did not belittle what concerns his father throughout his lifetime,” the Vice President said.

“He was always quite serious about advocating for the poor and the less fortunate,” he said.

Prof. Osinbajo prayed that God would comfort the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi’s entire family and “give them the strength to face the loss.”
