Ogunsanya takes over as CEO of Airtel Africa.

 NewsReport Nigeria reports that the Airtel Africa Plc, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services with a presence in 14 African countries, has announced that Olusegun Ogunsanya, Managing Director and CEO Nigeria, will succeed Raghunath “Raghu” Mandava as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Africa, following Raghu Mandava’s retirement announcement to the Board.

 

Ogunsanya will join the Board of Directors of Airtel Africa plc on October 1, 2021.

 

This online information understands that the CEO designate joined Airtel Africa in 2012 as Managing Director and CEO Nigeria and has been in charge of our activities in Nigeria, our largest market in Africa, since then. Segun has over 25 years of executive expertise in retail, consumer products, and telecommunications. Segun worked for Coca-Cola in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya before joining Airtel in 2012. (as MD and CEO). He has also served as the Managing Director of Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd (owned by Coca-Cola Hellenic) and the Group Head, Retail Banking Activities at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), which covers 28 African countries. He is a chartered accountant as well as an electronics engineer.

 

On September 30, 2021, Raghu Mandava will retire as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, as a Director of Airtel Africa plc, and as a member of the Market Disclosure Committee.
