Nigerian 22-Year-old won the Texas, United States, Run-off vote

Steve Ezeonu, 22-year-old Nigerian-American, won the run-off election in Texas, the USA in the Grand Prairie Council.
NewsReport gathered that the Democratic rivals of Ezeonu won 3,903 votes to beat Greg Giessner, his closest challenger, who won 3,720 votes on 5 June.
In a statement from Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media and Public Relations, Mrs. Abike Dabiris-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Commission of Nigerians In the Diaspora (NiDCOM) commended the 22-year-old.
She stated that the win of Ezeonu did not surprise her since his persistence, determination, and perplexities contributed to his success at the time.
The head of NIDCOM urged other Nigerian people to emulate Ezeonu’s achievement and to strive to excel as “hard work is essential to success.”
She also asked them to continue showing Nigerians’ spirit of resilience
She asked Ezeonu to fulfill the electorate’s campaign pledges since he will have many opportunities in the future.
The Nigerian community in Texas expressed appreciation for offering him the greatest possible support.
Dabiri-Erewa said she contacted Ezeonu in an encouraging and supportive manner earlier before the election. (NAN)
The win of Ezeonu was hard-earned but highly merited, said Dabiri-Erewa.
Dabiri-Erewa said Ezeonu had shown by emergent victories that “hard work and duty pay.”
