NewsReport gathered that Anambra State Police Command officers have arrested a thug for reportedly attempting to rape his housemaid in Ifite, Awka, the state capital.
The 12-year-old house girl allegedly leaped from a second-story building to avoid being raped, breaking her legs in the process.
The event occurred on Thursday, according to reports, and the maid was sent to the hospital for treatment.
“A 12-year-old house help leaped from the window of a story building to escape rape by her ‘Oga,“ wrote Mrs. Ify Unachukwu, who published the incident on her Facebook page.
“She sustained a fracture on her leg bone (tibia). Now, she has been moved from Climax Specialist Hospital, Awka, to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku. She is presently in a critical condition, after escaping.”
The state police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident said that the culprit had been arrested.
“The suspect is in our custody and investigation has begun please,” he added.
