Illegal Miners Machines Burnt Over Fight Against Anti Galamsy
NewsReport gathered that the fight against anti Galamsy presents a significant issue in Ghana, with people demanding the cessation of illegal mining activities that are supposedly harming vegetation and polluting the country’s water resources.
An event that occurred in Shebi on September 18, 2025, showcased on TikTok the burning of an excavator, demonstrating that the battle against Galamsy remains uncompromising.

The fight against Galamsy is becoming increasingly difficult as the government aims to entirely eliminate illegal mining in Ghana
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) has distributed 900 water pumping machines, seized from various galamsey sites, to nine regions across the country.
The machines are expected to be handed over to farmer cooperatives in those regions for further distribution to farmers, aiming to increase food production and support the implementation of the government’s Feed Ghana Programme
Each beneficiary region will receive 100 machines.
These include the Upper East, Upper West, North East, Savannah, Northern, Greater Accra, Volta, Oti and Bono East.
