The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained people suspected of purchasing votes in the governorship race in Ekiti.

The EFCC is one of the security agencies tasked with overseeing the election.

Some of the suspects were apprehended at the Nigerian Police Force’s Oke Ori Omi Area Division, where they were believed to have been caught with funds allegedly used to bribe voters, an act the EFCC authorities claim was done covertly.

The EFCC then raided another home, where some people were captured with a book holding voter information for a certain election district.
