Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has stated that he would rather “be with” President Muhammadu Buhari than the continuing Biafran conflict because of the “carnage and enormous genocide being perpetrated by Nnamdi Kanu’s hirelings across Igboland.“

Speaking during a Facebook Live on Thursday Dokubo stated that he “chased” armed militias of Kanu’s organisation, the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), away from Rivers, his state.
“Let it be known that today, I will prefer to be with Buhari than the Biafra of this carnage, Biafra of this monumental genocide being committed by Nnamdi Kanu’s hirelings all over Igboland” Dokubo said.
“I stopped them in Rivers State, I chased them out. I have pursued them to their hideouts, and I’m chasing them out.”
This newspaper reports that Dokubo has repeatedly expressed his support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of Buhari’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
