A 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself after receiving critical feedback from her parents about her poor performance in the recently released PLE Results.

Daphine Nakimuli, a resident of Kinuubi East, Bwikya Ward in Mparo division, Hoima City, was killed.

Nakimuli had just finished her PLE at Bwikya Primary School, where she had received 28 aggregates in the four subjects.

According to neighbours, parents chastised their daughter for failing the exams and wasting their money on her school fees because of this performance.

Anger and abandonment drove the girl behind their house, where she grabbed a rope and climbed a jackfruit, from which she hung herself.

The Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, Allan Julius Hakiza, confirmed the incident and stated that police had already begun an investigation into the juvenile’s death.
