We Won’t Make You Sit at Home Anymore – IPOB

THE Indigenous People of Biafra’s leadership has issued a warning to the people of the South-East to be careful on Monday (today), stating that security agents may commit acts of terrorism against innocent residents and blame it on members of the Eastern Security Network.

This comes as the secessionist group reiterated that it had no intention of enforcing its previously weekly sit-at-home order, claiming that it had uncovered a plot by security operatives to disguise themselves as its and ESN members in order to “attack traders who come out tomorrow for their legitimate businesses.” NewsReport gathered.

IPOB stated that it was important for the international community to be informed that it had suspended its previous weekly sit-at-home directive two weeks ago.

This was revealed in a statement signed by Emma Powerful, the proscribed group’s Director of Media and Publicity, which was made available to The PUNCH on Sunday.

“The IPOB intelligence unit has revealed hidden plots by Nigerian security services, most notably the DSS and the police, to disguise as IPOB and ESN agents and target traders who come out tomorrow for their lawful businesses,” the statement said in part.

“In solidarity with our incarcerated leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB declares that there will be no more Ghost Mondays in Biafra territory.” Sit-at-home days will only be observed on days when our leader is scheduled to appear in court. Such days will be widely publicized in advance.

“Everyone should be on the lookout for this nefarious conspiracy. Under any pretense, IPOB will not allow any attack on any Biafran or Biafra resident.

“In the name of ESN and IPOB volunteers, security agencies have devised plans to launch attacks on innocent individuals. We have no intention of enforcing another sit-at-home edict.

“We understand that in Enugu, all DPOs, DCOs, and other senior police officers met to prepare this plan to assault innocent Biafrans and label them ESN attacks.
