With a heavy heart and gratitude to Almighty Olodumare, we, the Yoruba community in Greater Accra, Ghana, join the rest of the Yoruba people all over the world in mourning the passing of our noble, peaceful, knowledgeable, and glorious Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, to the great beyond.

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi is not dead, he only transits to join his ancestors and we should not be sad, rather we should all learn a great lesson from his deeds and actions while with us. Oba Lamidi Adeyemi lived a great and noble life before he was called to join our ancestors for another greater assignment.

 

Amb Oloye Oyeyemi Fatuyi FIIM President Greater Accra Yoruba Community Ghana on behalf of all the elders and the executives further explain that Alaafin’s love and support for the Yoruba culture, heritage and traditions will make him remain in the hearts and minds of many sons and daughters of Ooduduwa.

 

May his transition be peaceful and open more doors of happiness for his family, children and Yoruba people all around the world.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
