Reports indicate that the founder of the prestigious film award ceremony, the African Movie Academy Awards (AMMA), Ms. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, has passed away.

NewsReport gathered that Peace Anyiam Osigwe died at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city, on Monday night, January 9, 2023.

In a short tribute to the respected and influential filmmaker, Obi Emelonye, the producer of Last Flight to Abuja, said: “Thank you and good night dada Peace,” on the social media network Facebook.
