Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, told a court that her ex-husband lacked the capacity to care for their four children News Report gathered.
Remember that after their break-up in August 2020, Precious, a former beauty queen, and the former minister were at odds about custody of their children.
This online information learned that Precious Chikwendu claimed in her petition before an Abuja High Court that Fani-Kayode “beat her up on multiple occasions even when she was pregnant,” according to The Nigeria Lawyer.
The suit is also seeking an N3.5 million monthly payment for the upkeep of their four sons.
However, Fani-Kayode had sought to Judge Sylvanus Orji of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, through his lawyer Adeola Adedipe, to have the action dismissed or the apparent serving of the proceedings filed by Chikwendu on him set aside.
The court denied Fani-plea Kayode’s and assumed jurisdiction over the issue, a decision that the ex-minister challenged at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Justice Orji further ordered that Fani-Kayode be issued with a new hearing notice as well as the originating motion.
Fani-Kayode, who was dissatisfied with the verdict, filed a notice of appeal on March 25, 2021, stating that the court had denied him a fair hearing.
FFK asked the Court of Appeal to issue an “order remitting this case to the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court for reassignment and determination by another judge,” among other things.
