NewsReport Nigeria gathered that the explosion happened around 11 a.m. at the Presidential Library’s Marcque event center.

This online research discovered that a normal cleaning was being performed while one of the event center’s gas cylinders exploded.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that a rescue crew came at the location shortly after the event and took some dead bodies.

When our correspondent went to the library, he noticed that both the entrance and exit gates were locked and keyed.

Attempts by our correspondent to obtain entrance were unsuccessful since the guards at the gates turned back everyone who tried to enter.

The Conference Hotel in Abeokuta, which is owned by former Governor Gbenga Daniel, was damaged by an explosion on Tuesday, killing two people and injuring three more.

Last week, two gas explosions claimed the lives of a newborn and four other people.

Three people, including an infant, were killed in a gas explosion last Wednesday in Oke-Egunyan, Abeokuta, while a technician was topping up the gas of a broken refrigerator.

A gas explosion happened on Mercy Road, Panseke, Abeokuta, less than 24 hours after the last event, killing a technician, Sanya Shonde was injured which later led to the amputation of his leg.
