No more Fuel Subsidy, President Tinubu Declares

 

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, announced that his administration would not continue the payment of subsidies on petroleum products.

“Subsidy is gone!,” Tinubu exclaimed during his inaugural address at Eagle Square, Abuja, shortly after he was sworn in as the 16th President of Nigeria.

 

He said in part, “Unfortunately, in the budget that was used before I assumed office, I was advised that no provision is there for fuel subsidy. So fuel subsidy is gone”
