NewsReport gathered that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has asked the Abia State High Court to hear his fundamental rights complaint on November 2.

On Thursday, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, announced this in a press statement headed, ‘Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Fundamental Rights petition to be heard on November 2nd, 2021.’

On August 27, 2021, the lawyer filed the complaint, seeking that the Federal Government return the secessionist to Kenya, where he was “abducted.”

He also wanted N5 billion from the government for what he claimed was a blatant violation of Kanu’s fundamental rights. On September 21, 2021, the vacation judge issued a judgment moving the case to the Chief Judge of the Abia State High Court for assignment.

“For the general public’s information, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Fundamental Rights petition pending before the High Court of Abia State has been assigned and slated for hearing on November 2nd, 2021,” the statement said.

“On this date, the Nigerian government and its Attorney-General will be expected to move their extant application for extension of time to file their defense to the suit and my opposition to the application.
