The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, stated in an interview that the Federal Government was working exhausting to enhance nationwide safety and prevent all secession tendencies.
NewsReport Nigeria reports that the Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, who said this when he appeared on the Bond FM radio program, “Ibi Abasede” in Lagos, urged Nigerians to disregard those behind the agitations for the country’s secession.
He stated the federal government’s dedication to the continued efforts at ridding the nation of crimes necessitated the April 8 Town Hall meeting on security held in Kaduna.
Mohammed stated the recommendations from the meeting can be offered to the Federal Executive Council and state governors this week.
The minister identified that what united Nigeria was extra necessary than the problems threatening its continued existence.
He stated: “We had been moved by safety points across the nation and known for a gathering of all related stakeholders on April 8, in Kaduna.
“That now we have ethnicity points is just not new. IPOB, Boko Haram, and farmer-herders clashes aren’t new; all we should do is to search for the way in which ahead.
“We’re conscious of them, the federal government is working. Secession shouldn’t be the way in which out of our challenges. You don’t cure headaches by beheading the patient.
“The issues that unite us in Nigeria are greater than what separates us.”
