It prevents spermatozoa from fertilizing the woman’s ovum, thereby preventing pregnancy. It is used as spermicide by inserting the oil deep in the vagina before sexual intercourse.
It doesn’t change the menstrual cycle or ovulation, nor does it have any effect on the health of women.
