After the video of the cab driver returning the money and being praised for his good deed went viral, the Vice President reached out to journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure, who began a fundraiser for him.

According to the allegation, the market woman, who works as a fish seller at Accra’s Mallam Atta Market, entered the vehicle on Friday evening and neglected to pay Gh8,400.

The taxi driver found the money the next day in his car and, out of honesty, went to the house where he dropped off the woman and handed the cash to her.

Touched by the video of the taxi driver and the market woman, the Vice President donated GH20,000.

According to Manasseh Awuni Azure, two other donors have given GH2,500 to be added to what Vice President Bawumia gave.
