Newsreport gathered that Shuaib Labaran, the principal attorney for the Federal Government in the prosecution of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, has stated that he (Kanu) denied membership in IPOB.
The Federal Government has charged Nnamdi Kanu with treason, including 15 new accusations filed on Monday.
Kanu has pled not guilty to all of the accusations leveled against him.
Labaran told journalists outside the court that Kanu “vehemently” denied being a member of IPOB.
He said, “One of the charges suggesting that the defendant, Nnamdi Kanu is a member of IPOB and he vehemently denied being a member of IPOB. That is very curious and we urge Nigerians to see us through how we are going to prove all those charges against the defendant in no time to come.”
