JUST IN: Tafa Balogun, a former IGP, was Laid to Rest [PHOTOS].

Tafa Balogun, a former inspector general of police, was buried today in his rural Ila-Orangun, Osun State, home amid tears.

NewsReport that after a brief illness, Balogun passed away on August 4th, 2022 at the Redington Hospital in Lekki, Lagos State.

Between March 2002 and January 2005, the deceased served as Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police Force, where he helped to establish the Police Mobile Force Training College in Ila-Orangun, Osun State, among other significant operational milestones.

A graduate of the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan where he studied Political Science and Law respectively, the former IGP served in various administrative, operational, and investigative positions all around the country.

He was a fellow of the National War College, as it was then called but now National Defence College, Abuja. He equally held many Masters Degrees, cutting across many academic and professional fields.
