Just In: Igangan Reignites: ‘20 Killed, Palace, and Petrol Station Burned’

NewsReport gathered that the Asigangan Palace, as well as a prominent fuel station, were both destroyed. They were razed by a gang of 50 accused bandits, who arrived in the town at 11 p.m. on more than 20 motorcycles.
Tunji Omolewu, a previous caretaker chairman of the council, told OYOINSIGHT.COM that he had to rush down at 5 a.m. this morning to confirm the occurrence.
”People had just gone to bed when they reported seeing bikes entering the town. They had started killing people before our people even realized what was going on. Around 11 p.m., I received a call. We were driving back from Ekiti, where we had participated in a Yoruba nation rally. When the calls didn’t stop coming after I arrived in Ibadan around 12 a.m., I decided to return home. I’ve counted over 20 bodies so far. Our monarch’s palace was set on fire. The Adolak fueling station was also destroyed by fire. He almost broke down in tears as he said, “We’ve gathered here…”

Yemi Akinlabi, the former caretaker chairman of Ibarapa Central, who is currently on vacation in the United States, says his phone has been inundated with calls.
”It’s very depressing. Our staff received an intelligence report only a few days ago and forwarded it to the relevant places for action, but here we are today. Will we continue to live in dread in our homeland? I spoke with General Toogun about the situation last night, and we would like him and his staff to take action. “We must not enable our people to rely on self-help,” he stressed.
This comes only days after General Kunle Togun (rtd), the leader of the Oyo State Security Network dubbed Amotekun Corps, claimed that foreign Fulanis have encamped throughout the Southwest region and may strike if nothing is done quickly.
