Gov. Ortom and Goodluck Jonathan had a private meeting.

NewsReport gaathered that Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom met with Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Jonathan behind closed doors on Tuesday.

They met in Abuja at the former president’s mansion with the goal of “strengthening the PDP’s familial relations.”

The PUNCH has learned that the two talked about the party’s future and the general election in 2023.

“The two met behind closed doors for more than 40 minutes and chatted frankly,” Nathaniel Ikyur, Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, informed reporters, despite the fact that both PDP bigwigs did not speak to the press.

“They only emerged smiling, with the ex-president exchanging pleasantries with the governor’s entourage.

“They obviously discussed the Peoples Democratic Party and the future of Nigeria.”

Jonathan’s meeting with Ortom came as a surprise owing to speculations about the latter’s presidential ambitions under the All Progressives Party.

However, Jonathan has not resigned his PDP membership, as confirmed by many in the PDP and Jonathan’s aides.
