NewsReport gathered that Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged residents to remain calm and refrain from engaging in any activity that could disrupt the state’s current peace.

He urged residents, particularly the youth, to work to ensure the harmonious and peaceful coexistence of the state’s diverse ethnic nationalities.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, following clashes between Hisbah personnel and irate youths in the Sabon Gari area of the metropolis on Tuesday night, the governor warned the people not to use the situation to perpetrate violence capable of causing chaos in the state.

He urged the state’s security forces to work together to combat threats to peace, law, and order, adding that security personnel would not be afraid to confront threats to peace, law, and order.

He appealed for synergy between various arms of security in the state, adding that security operatives would not shy away from confronting threats to peace, law, and order even if it means making hard decisions that would better the common good and public interest.

‘’As a government working for the peace, security, unity, and progress of the state, we will not toy with our constitutional and statutory responsibility,’’ the statement added.

The statement maintained that the government, security agencies, and people of conscience would continue to work for peace, law, and order.
