Boko Haram insurgents have released footage showing its fighters shooting down missing NAF fighter jet mid-air.
The video also showed fighters carrying RPG & artillery equipment, as well as a corpse of the pilot & the aircraft’s debris as gathered in a report monitored by Naija News on Hum Angle Twitter page.
NewsReport Nigeria understands that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reported that one of its aircraft lost radar contact on Wednesday while on a mission in the Northeast to be accomplished.
The Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has arrived in Borno State on Thursday amidst the circumstances surrounding the missing Nigeria Air Force (NAF) fighter jet.
This on-line information learnt that the Nigerian Air Force on Friday said that the Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) that went off the radar on Wednesday may have crashed.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet made this known in a statement titled ‘Update On Missing NAF Alpha Jet Aircraft.’
According to the Air Force, the missing pilots are Flight Lieutenant John Abolarinwa and Flight Lieutenant Ebiakpo Chapele.
NAF stated that the whereabouts of the two pilots remain unknown.
As of the time of filing this report, it is yet unclear if the NAF missing jet is the one in the Boko Haram footage.
