Ekiti Decides 2022: Oyebanji Talks About Becoming Ekiti Governor-Elect

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently concluded Ekiti governorship election, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, reacted to his election as the state’s governor-elect.

 

NewsReport understands that Mr. Biiodun Oyebanji won the vote with 187,057 votes from 15 of the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.

 

Segun Oni, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) governorship candidate, finished in second with 82,211 votes, while Bisi Kolawole, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate, received 67,457 votes.

The returning officer for the election, Professor Kayode Oyebode at 3:04 am on Sunday declared Oyebanji the winner of the governorship election.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday morning, Oyebanji thanked the people of Ekiti for voting massively for him and his party, APC.

Oybanji stated that the people of the state made his victory possible, asking them for their support in order to keep making the state work.

The former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) will now take over from his former principal, Governor Kayode Fayemi.
