In a post via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday, the Afrobeat superstar wrote, “Find her for me … I donate $10k”.

The Daily Post reports that Ngozi Mary has been praised by many Nigerians on social media for returning $70,000 (over ₦55 million) to a customer in a Lagos hotel.

Ngozi, a staff member of Eko Hotel and Suites, has been in the news for days over her honest act of returning a customer’s misplaced $70,000 in Lagos State.

Meanwhile, Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, also reacted to the return of $70,000 by Ngozi Mary. Obi is of the view that Mary deserves national honour and recognition.

The former Anambra State governor, in a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Saturday, said it was heartwarming and reassuring that Mary returned the money to its owner despite the hardship and the prevailing moral decadence in the nation.

Obi claimed that it is her likes that deserve a national award instead of celebrating those who have negatively impacted the nation.

He wrote, “It is heartwarming and reassuring that despite the hardship in the country and the prevailing moral decadence in society, a staff member of Eko Hotel and Suites, Kekwaaru Ngozi Mary, was reported to have returned a misplaced sum of $70,000 to a customer of the hotel in Lagos.

“When will Nigeria start celebrating the likes of Miss Ngozi Mary for her honesty and integrity, Teacher Akeem Badru, for winning the 2023 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Award, and many others like them?

“These are the people who deserve to be given national honours, awards, and recognition, instead of celebrating those who have impacted our nation negatively. In the New Nigeria that we desire, these are the kinds of people that will be celebrated. A New Nigeria is possible.”
