Austin Eguavoen, the Super Eagles’ interim coach, has resigned.

NewsReport gathered that Austin Eguavoen, the interim head coach of the Super Eagles, has resigned from his position as the Nigerian national team’s head coach.

After Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff loss to Ghana’s Black Stars, he announced his resignation.

Eguavoen’s role as Technical Director of all national teams will now be resumed.

According to Brila.net, Eguavoen has formally notified the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, of his decision to resign.

Meanwhile, Eguavoen and the Super Eagles snubbed the media after failing to qualify for Qatar 2022 after a 1-1 draw with the Black Stars in the second leg playoff on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

No player or coach from the Nigeria squad spoke to journalists after they failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
