Ahmad, an ex-Buhari aide, congratulates Tinubu upon Peter Obi’s rally in Lagos.
Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has congratulated the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu after the Labour Party rally in Lagos.
NewsReport indicate that a sizable throng attended the event in Nigeria’s financial center, which some political observers think to be a stronghold of the LP candidate, Peter Obi.
The Lekki-Epe expressway in Lagos was the starting point of Obi and his supporters’ road trek to the Tafawa Balewa Square.
The rally was said to have caused a massive traffic gridlock along the Lekki-Epe expressway.
But Bashir, a former House of Representatives aspirant, feels the turnout for the LP rally was not enough to assure Obi’s victory in Lagos State.
He said if that was all the Labour Party’s candidate could do it would not be wrong if he starts now to congratulate his own party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He tweeted, “If that’s all the Labour Party could get in Lagos with over 6,000,000+ votes, then it’s very safe to congratulate our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
