Building on the success of the 2015 Power of 100 book, which celebrated influential Nigerian women, this expanded initiative will now encompass remarkable women from 16 African countries. In her opening remarks, Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank, Chizoma Okoli, shared the motivation behind this expansion. “This year’s edition of Power of 100 will extend beyond Nigeria, celebrating women making significant impact across the African continent. The Power of 100 Africa is not just a celebration, but a call to action,” she stated.

Access Bank is inviting the public to nominate these phenomenal women—trailblazers, change-makers, and unsung heroes. Okoli emphasized the importance of recognizing African women who are leading innovations and driving social change, aiming to uplift their success stories and inspire future female leaders.

Honorees will gain access to exclusive events, valuable networking opportunities, and resources within Access Bank’s “W community.” They will also participate in mentorship programs to bolster their leadership skills and community engagement.

The countries involved include The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda, D.R. Congo, Guinea, Mozambique, South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Angola.

With a diverse jury panel of industry experts evaluating nominees, the initiative promises transparency and fairness. Women across the eligible countries can register to be recognized via Access Bank’s website.

In alignment with Access Bank’s mission, Abiodun Olubitan, Group Head of W Initiative & Emerging Business, highlighted how the Power of 100 Africa embodies the bank’s commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality. It reflects their broader mission to foster economic growth and drive positive societal change across the continent.

Through The Power of 100 Africa initiative, Access Bank aspires not only to celebrate current achievements but to inspire future generations by sharing the impactful stories of African women who are making their mark.
