Emefiele: Old Currencies To Expire January 31, 2023 (Video)

Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), announced on Wednesday that fresh redenominated naira notes would be released by December 15 of this year. He urged depositors to visit the banks to exchange their old money for a new one before it expired on January 31, 2023. NewsReport gathered.

Emefiele made the disclosure at a special media briefing in Abuja, saying the move has since secured the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari and other stakeholders.

He said the move was also to retrieve huge funds outside the banks.
