73 Young Men Nabbed on their Way to Imo State with 47 Motorbikes

72 Special Forces Brigade, Nigeria Army (NAF), Makurdi, intelligence reporter, nabbed, 73 young men yesterday from Nasarawa State, on their way to the state of Imo, in Agan Toll Gate, Makurdi.
NewsReport gathered that the young men with 47 motorbikes from Bajaj were in five trucks transporting minerals from the state of Plateau to the company in Port Harcourt.
Engr. Benson Abounu, Deputy Governor of Benue State, complimented the Special Forces for their care and professional behavior this morning. He said that despite the attempts to avoid capture, the military might seize the trucks and detain the men.
He was glad to find no armaments after comprehensive investigations by the military, contrary to the assumption in the city of the confiscation of a truck loaded with weapons and personnel to attack the city.
He expressed amazement, however, that so many young guys from the same state, such as Imo State, who currently have major security concerns, could be found together.
Engr. Abounu ordered the safety men to conduct out a complete passenger profiling, as the answers provided do not sum up.
Speaking about the matter, Lt. Col. AD Alhassan, Commander of the 72 Special Forces Brigade, said he and his troops were acting on the basis of the safety report as they proceeded to intercept the trucks as soon as they got the idea to go to Makurdi. He told me they had been waiting for them a couple of hours before they came at night at last.
He said that a comprehensive check was done with all the cargo on the trucks unloaded for proper search and their motorbikes dismantled, but no weapons were located.
When questioned, one of the young men, who claimed his name is Emmanuel Ayugwa said they were going to Imo State to do Okada business. He said though they were aware of the serious security challenges there, they decided to go because their brothers there told them that everything had calmed down.
Mr. Ayugwa, who said they only chose to travel by their bike using the truck to lessen their expenses, could not however explain how all of them from different places in Nasarawa State were able to find themselves in the trucks, which started their journeys from Plateau State.
Findings through a phone call with the manager of ANYANG KUANGYE INVESTMENT LIMITED, the company that owns the minerals show that the trucks were loaded with lead, zinc, and barytes from Plateau State and headed for a company in Port- Harcourt.
The manager said he was not aware of the arrangements by the driver to carry any other person apart from the motor boy and a company escort, and that, they were strictly warned not to carry anyone else in the trucks.
