Five individuals passed away in a car accident on the Accra-Kumasi route reported the early hour today.
Their automobiles collided head-on between the Apedwa and Bunso highway junctions, according to a witness
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, stated that five individuals out of a total of 13 passengers onboard a Toyota Hiace minibus perished on the scene.
According to him, the collision occurred near Akyem-Birimso.
According to reports, the bus they were riding on went off the road and collided with the back end of a DAF truck.
The police said the driver of the Toyota Minibus with registration number GT 3799- 16 now deceased, reportedly lost control of the bus and crashed into the articulated truck with registration number AK 1145 – 21.
Seven other persons on board the Toyota minibus who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Osiem.
