2023 Presidency: Tinubu meets Obasanjo in a closed Coors and Remains Silent.

In preparation for the general elections in 2023, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC‘s presidential candidate, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday in a private meeting.

NewsReport that when Tinubu arrived at the former President’s Penthouse residence at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in the afternoon, hundreds of his fans and APC members welcomed him amid a funfair, thus turning the residence into a campaign venue.

The APC Chairman in Ogun, Chief Yemi Sanusi, had earlier sent a message out to some party leaders to be on hand to welcome the former State Governror who was visiting Ogun State for the first time after emerging the candidate of the Party.

He was in the state during the campaign tour of states where he uttered the now-vital ‘Emilokan, E gbe kiniyi wa’ (It is my turn, bring this thing) slogan.

In the entourage of the candidate were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; APC former chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

The team was received by Governor Dapo Abiodun; the national leader of the Party, Chief Olusegun Osoba; his successor, the former Governor and Ogun East Senatorial Candidate of the APC, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, his predecessor, Segun Osoba and other Ogun government functionaries.

Tinubu immediately went into a closed-door meeting with Obasanjo.

Details of the meeting which lasted for almost two hours, was however not made known to journalists has Tinubu refused to speak to journalists who approached him after the meeting.

The former Lagos state governor and members of his entourage immediately boarded a waiting bus and zoomed off.

Tinubu and members of his entourage later attended the 2022 artisans’ day, held at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

Addressing his supporters and members of the APC at the event, Tinubu said, “We love what the governor is doing and we are glad with all the support you have given him. The campaign has not started yet, I’m just here to greet you, thank you and God bless you. God bless Ogun state, God bless Nigeria, God bless your children. Thank you.”
