“Defending Our Land: NAIMOS vs. Galamsey at the Heart of Bonsu”
On December 4, the NAIMOS Taskforce resumed operations in the Eastern Region and conducted a raid on an illegal mining site at Bunsu, located within Section E Site 3 of the Cocoa Research Centre in the Fanteakwa South District.
The Taskforce saw mass destruction of lands within cocoa farms.
The illegal miners absconded upon sighting the vehicles of the NAIMOS Taskforce. The Taskforce seized 2 x excavators and 1 x bulldozer left behind by the fleeing illegal miners.
In another development, on December 4 at about 1335 hrs, the NAIMOS Taskforce currently conducting anti-galamsey operations in the Eastern Region, raided some illegal mining sites at Nsutem in the Fanteakwa South District.
The Illegal miners were observed mining and discharging their waste water directly into the Birim River from the illegal mining sites.
There was also mass destruction of lands within the area. The Illegal miners absconded upon siting vehicles of the NAIMOS Taskforce.

Two excavators which were being used to cause the pollution have since been seized by the Task Force.
