BREAKING: CBN prohibits dollar fees on domestic transactions

The Nigerian National Domestic Card Scheme, Afrigo, has been introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, announced the card digitally this morning and noted that all transaction fees going forward, with the exception of foreign transactions, would be paid in naira.

He claimed that Afrigo will be more affordable, a source of national pride, and have the ability to increase financial inclusion.
